Mike entered the financial services industry as a licensed agent and registered representative with New York Life. Five years later, he joined a Washington DC-based life settlement company as a Senior Investment Analyst; thus, began his career in the life settlement industry. Mike was recruited by a European investment company to manage operations for an Atlanta-based life settlement platform which he did successfully until 2009 when he was promoted to COO of the firm. Following the owner’s decision to withdraw from the US marketplace, Mike co-founded Longevity Asset Advisors, LLC (LAA) and focused his entrepreneurial instincts on the life contingent markets.
Mike’s analytical skills, combined with over 15 years of life insurance and financial services experience, augment his comprehensive grasp of the primary, secondary, and tertiary markets for life insurance. He has been personally involved in the execution of more than 500 transactions involving the full spectrum of secondary and tertiary market assets including policy-by-policy life settlement origination, portfolio purchase and sale transactions, beneficial interest transfers, and a variety of premium finance-related processes. His approach is always practical, to-the-point and based on solid evidence and extensive analysis.
Mike’s ability to think strategically and function tactically adds an additional measure of competence to the services LAA provides its clients.
Mike has been instrumental in establishing and operating profitable life settlement companies from developing the necessary infrastructure to implementation of workflow processes, regulatory compliance, origination procedures including transaction execution, and post-purchase administration. He is equally skilled with quantitative and qualitative analysis as it relates to life insurance assets and portfolios thereof and has been called upon as an expert witness in support of complex litigation involving life settlement policies and related matters. His ability to identify opportunities and discern how best to approach the execution of strategies intended to benefit the company’s clients brings fresh perspective to LAA’s business. Mike lives in Atlanta with his wife and three young sons.
